Every once in a while I get the chance to sit down and update my kindle TBR list. I tend to spend an entire night searching for books to read and then spend the next few trying to make it at least half way through before falling asleep in my own drool ( sexy, I know.) Honestly, prior to having babies I had a strict goal of always completing the book, never just giving up because it is someone’s life work you know? Why give a negative review if I can avoid it? Well, since popping out the twins I have remedied that.

If I can’t get into it, back into the world of Kindle Unlimited it goes.

Here are a few that I found and what I thought about them

Flightless Bird (Teen Paranormal Romance Series) (The Caged Series Book 1) by [McAllen, Kellie]

Pros: attractive cover, simple to read, heroine with a good back story.

Cons: WEAK heroine, cheesy love story, overly obvious plot.

Verdict: I couldn’t make it through. Most definitely better for a younger age group even though there is some bad language and content.

Alpha Series: Alpha Kaden by [Crane, Midika]

Pros: interesting description

Cons: less than desirable writing, unattractive male lead, supernatural knock off of Divergent with some creepy adult male vs. little girl punishment.

Verdict: Nope. Couldn’t do it. I did not get into this book at all.

Moon Tortured (Sky Brooks Series Book 1) by [Hunter, McKenzie]

Pros: well written, interesting plot, intriguing love interest, likeable heroine.

Cons: moves very slow, drags near the end and gets a little too far-fetched.

Verdict: Finished it but didn’t enjoy it enough to continue on in the series. It has all the right elements just lacked the excitement and fluidity I expect in my book binges.

Protector (Night War Saga Book 1) by [Stone, Leia, Bende, S.T.]

Pros: based off Norse mythology ( I LOVE anything that reminiscent of Thor), strong female lead, interesting plot, written by two authors I really dig.

Cons: slow-moving, predictable and doesn’t mesh well/felt choppy.

Verdict: Couldn’t finish it, lost interest.

I am working on a new list right now. Check out the blog next week for an additional binge!
