You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide . . .

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won’t let her get away again.

Full Review:

I first read about Cat and Bones in a different series of Jeaniene Frost’s titled the Night Prince Series. Only mentioned briefly, the two of them already stood out as snarky and caught my attention. All of Frost’s characters are feisty in one way or another and I always find myself drawn to her writing. I often will search the shelves of Half Price Books  for paperbacks since the majority of my advanced copies are e-books. I do love the feel of a book in my hand, but just in case you were wondering I only read e-copies of Erotica, don’t really wanna know what people do while reading those and what condition they leave their books in..just sayin’.

Back to the point, I found this gem on the shelves of my neighborhood HPB and I scooped it right up. For some reason I never see anything by Frost there and I was super stoked to spot it.  After blowing through it and reading it in a day, I have officially decided to inhale the rest of this series as soon as possible.

This series follows Cat, a half vamp who is working with the government to take down nasty vamps and is known for her deadly skills. Known as the Red Reaper, Cat finds herself in trouble often and leaves bodies in a trail behind her wherever she is sent. She is feisty, quirky and heart-broken. After meeting Bones, a master vamp and falling for him, she leaves with just a note and restarts her life in her new role. After a chance encounter with someone important to Bones, Cat is no longer hidden from his attention and he comes back into her life unexpectedly. The two of them beat their way through all the challenges that face them and Cat spends more than half her energy trying to keep things professional with the only person she has ever really wanted.

This book is hot! It is well written, hilarious, action packed and sexy in all the right places. The ending is awesome and there isn’t a major soul sucking cliffhanger to leave you seeing red. As I mentioned earlier, this is part of a series but you are left satisfied with everything that happens. The characters are well-built and experience complex emotions and the continuous twists and turns will have you on the edge of your seat.. or bed.. or office chair or whatever. My point, if you like PNR you will not be disappointed.

Disclaimer: I purchased my own copy of this book, I am just spreading the book love.
